Kalymnos is my favourite climbing destination that I've visited so far,
and I try and return as often as I can. Because I took so many photos on
my month-long trip, this gallery is split into two parts - this gallery
and October 2008. (150 photos)

This huge guidebook covering Froggatt to Black Rocks packs details of
over 2,200 routes and 1,100 boulder problems into its 528 full-colour
pages. One of the most eagerly-awaited British guidebooks, it has been
19 years since the last definitive guide! I'm delighted to get so many

Proving that it doesn't always rain in the mountains of North Wales ;)
Claire, Noelle and myself were blessed with stunning weather as we
tackled two classic multi-pitch rock climbs - Sub-Cneifion Rib near
Idwal Slabs, and Pinnacle Rib Route on Tryfan. It was great to
photograph Claire... (27 photos)

Does any climb deserve a gallery all to itself? When the climb is the
classic bold arete of Master's Edge (E7 6c) at Millstone then the answer
is most definitely yes! Fog, drizzle, and soaking wet cracks and holds
made most routes deeply uninspiring, but the weather couldn't dampen

This is a significant update to the ground-breaking 2004 guidebook to
the Roaches area of the Peak District. It covers 1,600 routes and 800
boulder problems. You can buy a copy of the guide at the BMC website. (3 photos)

I recently joined Adrian Berry of positiveclimbing.com and his clients
Aine and Simon for a Peak Coaching Day at Froggatt Edge. It wasn't the

climbing got done, with the highlight being Aine's cool-headed lead of
Three... (39 photos)

This glorious full-colour guidebook is packed with classic routes and
all the wonderful features that you have come to expect from ROCKFAX. It
is now twice the size of the old 1995 book. One of my photos made the
shortlist for the front cover, but it was edged out by the excellent
shot of... (5 photos)

An update to the award-winning 2003 guidebook, this new edition has a
host of improvements as well as including an extra 100 pages. It's the
first time that a major guidebook has used one of my photographs on the
front cover, and there are also a handful of shots inside the book. You
can... (6 photos)

Keen to visit Norway and start leading on ice, I saw an advert on
UKClimbing for Northern Alpine Guides, a Norwegian guiding company run
by Andreas Spak. The ice conditions were superb and I learnt a lot my
week there. Conditions weren't ideal for good photography, but I still
got some... (28 photos)

I tend to take fewer photos during the British Winter, as there aren't
as many days with good climbing weather. However when it is dry and
sunny with very little wind, the quality of the climbing, and the Winter
light, can be stunning. This is a gallery of photos I took on a busy
