I'm sitting here listening to the rhythmic thumping of the laundry falling over and over, spinning relentlessly in the dryer. I like rhythmic sounds. I'm not that avid of a music listener. I'd almost much rather the laundry than the radio... but I'm weird. There is a heartbeat in life.. The rhythmic chirping of a bird, the RPM's of an engine, the pumping a chest during CPR. I'm a drummer. Spawned by the boredom of having nothing to do while my Mom ...

At times I had thought that I went into the wrong career. I judged this on the stories that were told about me as a child. If you ask any of my family members what it was that I liked to do they would all s ...

It was turmoiled those two days I had to wait for my results. I had to go to work, but my brain while there felt on par with a six year old. It was make or break for me... I'll start at the beginning. Graduation from nursing school is one thing, but really, who cares? Graduating nursing school doesn't guarantee anything. It's the NCLEX-RN, a national standardized test that dictates whether or not one can even use their nursing educat ...

I have a phobia. It used to not exist. It causes me to be unreasonable at times... Spring 2004... I was deep in Mexico. When I say deep, I mean middle of nowhere. Two hours off-road, five hours from any major civilization. I was on a ranch.. a horrible evil place, but that is for a different story. I had to pee... that is where this story begins. Micturition, diuresis, voiding.. whatever you want to call it, I had an urge.

Dooood! So much has been happening... oh, wait! Nothing has been happening! Which is it?! School has been an obsession lately, must finish... must move on. I am pleased to announce that I will be capping off my education with a preceptorship in Trauma ICU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, all the exclamation points is exactly how I feel.

And now, I'm probably going to piss everyone off...

Bailout? Recession? Really? I write this from the stance of a resident of a low income area. This neighborhood might be described as the upper eschelon of lower class. Those who might have the income status of lower-middle class seem to hide it very well. Maybe for fear that they would stick out like a sore thumb. I see no signs of a recession here... only the causes. I am against a bail-out of any sort. People need to suffer the consequences of ...

I feel bad for the dog. School imprisons her, makes her gain weight, and basically drives her nuts. Below is the face I have to endure every time I dive into my books It was ...

I'm bored and procrastinating writing a paper, so I thought I'd share my training secrets. This may sound like a cocky statement, but I have to say that I am damn proud of myself for maintaining fitness throughout nursing school. I can climb 5.12 off the couch... and frankly, that is how I gauge my fitness. Diet: My diet is crap. I eat whatever, try to avoid foods that are bad.. eat them anyway then wake up ...

What is up with these climbers who travel to Vegas? Why are they so damn unfriendly? It's like someone shit straight into their mouth or something... walking around with their "I'm better than you looks". They need to go back to wherever they came from. I'm talking about the "toddler" aged climber. The type who has been at it for maybe 1-3 years. They think they're so badass. They think They know it all, and they ...

Below is what I eat for breakfast every morning, well I don't get qiwi every morning, but the rest of it is my every morning staple. Boring.. I know.. but there's a reason behind it. You see, this meal will make me poo within 15 minutes which is nice with my unpredictable schedule such as 6 am clinicals, getting off a 12 hour shift at 8 am, or when Jarrett wants to go climbing at 7 am because he goes to work in the evenings. There is no allowing ...

And in random news... I just found out that I am going to be featured as a 6' x 4' poster at a Patagonia store in Austin... This cracks me up since in real life I measure at 5' 1/4".
